What to expect: The Oasis Canoa resort welcomes families, couples, and singles from all over Europe and North America with a wide range of activities. Pool and beach aerobics, Spanish lessons, children’s ice-cream parties, Latin dance classes, water sports clinics, and many recreation facilities entertain guests when they're not sunning around the pool or on the beach. Guests tend to dress up for dinner.

Amenity highlights: Containing an island and a swim-up bar, the large, lagoon-style pool and surrounding sundeck furnish swimming and sunning alternatives to the beach, which extends deep into the resort's grounds and includes volleyball and bocce ball courts. Thatched roofs, ponds, and lush gardens interspersed with 12, three-story, multi-colored lodging buildings provide a tranquil tropical atmosphere lit after dark by globe street lamps. Facilities include a 24-hour sports bar, pool tables, a supervised children's club, and an open-air theater for nightly shows. A health-and-beauty spa offers face and body treatments, men's and women's saunas, and spa tubs (surcharges for all spa and beauty products, services, treatments.) Two meeting rooms can accommodate conferences and special events for up to 240 guests.
The Oasis Canoa purifies its water but recommends drinking complimentary bottled water, which is provided.

Water sports available at this resort include snorkeling, windsurfing, kayaking, and sailing, with introductory clinics held for novices. An on-site dive center can arrange scuba diving courses, certification, and trips (surcharges for all). Three clay tennis courts allow for both day and night games. All ages enjoy miniature golf and archery; team sports include beach volleyball and basketball; and a fitness center—with attendant present for advice or help—provides weights and cardio equipment.
